It's sort of like when a tennis player said that traces of cocaine found in his system came from a woman he kissed in a bar. Or the snowboarder who said that the traces of marijuana found in HIS system were from second hand smoke.
Still yet, it's entirely possible that this is the case. However, the world of cycling is known for having its share of doping scandals. Floyd Landis and Lance Armstrong have all been accused of doping.
Clenbuterol is used to bulk up cattle. It's not approved for use in the US, although bodybuilders use it to gain muscle. It has side effects such as heart palpitations - which isn't desirable for someone in Contador's position because he was competing in the mountains the next day.
So did Alberto Contador use prohibited drugs to enhance his cycling performance at the Tour de France? We'll have to wait and see.
