Eric LeGrand Rutgers Injury Paralyzed

Eric LeGrand, a Rutgers student was injured, paralyzed. While playing football, LeGrand suffered a spinal cord injury that has left him with no movement below his neck. This is yet another devastating blow to a school which has already lost one student this year after he committed suicide for being bullied because of his sexual orientation.

The injury came at the game against Army, and occurred during the last minutes of the game. Rutgers kicked the ball, which Malcolm Brown was returning for the Army Team. Eric LeGrand went to tackle him and went in head first. He laid motionless on the ground. There is still hope that the paralysis is temporary, and more will be known at a later time. (We’ll keep you updated)

This is so tragic. I am at a loss for words. News coverage of the incident can be seen below.
