Project Runway season 8 finale airs tonight. The winner results and predictions for Project Runway place Mondo Guerra in the spot slated to win. He's become the 'sweetheart' of the season, with a story that would make even the iciest of hearts melt. Mondo is HIV positive. However, that's not why he's going to win. He's going to win because of his sheer talent, his drive, and his passion for fashion.
The Project Runway finale focused a lot on New York's Fashion Week. In a sense we've already seen everything we need to. However, tonight we see the end result - who made it to the top and who's wowed the likes of Tim Gunn, etc.
The crew had $9,000 to pull together a 10 piece collection. We saw the beginning of it last week, and this week we will see the remainder.
We will update you when we learn who won Project Runway Season 8. My money's on Mondo.
I don't think any of these people have much talent or any type of vision to actually get out in the world of high fashion and make a living as a designer. Their looks are uninspiring and dreary. There is no pop! No sizzle. No surprises! I am sure the talent staff who picked this bunch are kicking themselves and asking how they could assemble such a bland group of designers. I lost interest long ago (yes, I still tune in for the fashion show portion). BTW- even though Mondo's story is a sad one, it has no bearing on his talent or winning a contest. You either have IT or you don't.

ReplyDeleteThis is absurd! I cannot believe Gretchen won. She was not deserving, and Mondo was the clear winner. This is ridiculous. I would absolutely wear Mondo's clothing over Gretchen's and since our old and out of date judges (ie-Nina and Michael) are incapable of comprehending real fashion, I will support Mondo by buying his clothing over Gretchen's to push his success. Totally disgusted! Unsure if I will ever watch Project Runway again.....
ReplyDeleteGretchen's clothes were so 1980. It wasn't fashion forward at all, it was fashion backward, if you ask me! Mondo was the obvious winner!
ReplyDeleteProject Runway successfully chose the MOST BORING of all designers & collections. What a disappointment this show has become. At least Heidi tried to stay true to the original goals of this program-but appeared to be out voted. I'm sure they've lost many loyal viewers. I will not be tuning in next season.

ReplyDeleteUgh couldn't agree more with the majority of these comments. Gretchen? Really?! What a bad joke to match that designer's bad attitude and even worse clothing. Very disappointed.
