Outlaw Canceled by NBC? Outlawed joins Fox’s Lonestar and ABC’s My Generation as new shows canceled early in the season. Ratings drive which shows go and stay, although many viewers find that the cancellations are premature as plots have not had time to develop.

However, many networks are pinched for cash and sinking money into a show that’s not going to bring in the viewing audience just doesn’t make business sense.

Outlaw was canceled without being moved around to other days to test for an audience. This is what frustrates viewers about the network’s decision to prematurely cancel a show. Outlaw only drew 4.1 million viewers, less than half the 11.1 million viewer audience which viewed Blue Bloods.

However…does a show even stand a chance on Friday night at 10:00 pm? With Friday being date night and the night where kids have school activities and sports, shouldn’t more tempting programming air?

NBC hasn’t announced what will happen at the 10:00 pm slot once all the episodes of Outlaw air. Chances are, this slot will be a chance for them to issue re-runs of other shows.
