Cartoon Profile Pictures for Facebook

Facebook Cartoon Character profile pics are lighting up the social networking site.  In an effort to bring forth awareness of Child Abuse, cartoon characters of the 70's, 80's, and 90's are flooding the site.  A cursory glance at any one personal Facebook account will show you Smurfs, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, Thunder Cats, and more.

There were some cartoons that I forgot about.  For instance, She Ra was a female superhero that empowered young girls - and I think she should stage a comeback, or at least get a feature film sort of like Iron man.

I also forgot about the Thundercats, and My Little Pony. Tin Tin is a popular cartoon character from Europe that I have seen on the profiles of some intellectuals as well.

Facebook is a great way to spread awareness about various issues.  Other recent campaigns include the "I like it on..." status, which is where women changed their status to where they like to put their handbag.  This was an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer.
