Cam Newton Scandal, NCAA Investigation Didn'tDur Stop Auburn

The Cam Newton scandal and NCAA Investigation didn't stop Auburn from winning the SEC Championship. The sweet taste of victory belongs to Auburn, even though their star quarterback has been fighting "play for pay" allegations for the better part of a season.

The Auburn Tigers took on the South Carolina Gamecocks under the direction of Steve Spurrier, the former coach of the Florida Gators. Both Florida and Alabama - last year's frontrunners, were absent from the championship game.

South Carolina cracked Alabama's Crimson Tide this year, leading them away from the possibility of yet another BCS championship appearance.

This year it's the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks in line for the BCS title game. I'd almost bet on the Auburn Tigers and their Heisman frontrunner Cam Newton to win this game.

The Oregon Ducks are an unlikely team to make it, but it's refreshing to see someone other than your typical big winners such as Ohio State, Alabama, and Florida for a change.

Cam Newton is eligible, and at this time the NCAA hasn't found any reason to reprimand the athlete.

  1. I wrote this to the NCAA and I will follow through.

    Ms. Lack:
I would like to know why the University Of Alabama was almost given the death penalty a few years ago for allegedly breaking NCAA rules but yet there is no investigation into the triumvirate of Patrick Fain Dye,Milton McGregor, and Bobby Lowder in the Auburn/Cam Newton affair which is far worse. This selective punishment of NCAA teams is wrong and possibly illegal. Unless this matter is pursued vigorously I will begin a campaign to put the NCAA out of business. I have hundreds of people (including myself) in 14 different states prepared to start writing their congressmen and senators demanding they begin an investigation into the NCAA. I would urge you to get real in investigating the activities of Auburn University and the triumvirate referenced above.

  2. Sounds like sour grapes. Please remember that this investigation has been going on for a almost a year (with the FBI involved). If they had found anything to implicate Auburn we would know.

  3. I think ms lack needs to get real and get the lil chip off her shoulder for her team obviously not doing so well this year. Fact of the matter is students get "paid" in some form at every school in the nation, only difference is being a standout like Newton has been means he is being watched alot harder than others. It wouldnt be near as juicy if it was just some mediocre player on a so so team. At this time he's innocent till proven guilty so we need to leave it at that and stop being mad cause he helped his team beat yours!

  4. There was no money that exchanged hands.
Also, Auburn and Cam have both been cleared.
Yes, this investigation has been going on for at least a year now, and the NCAA knows the rules. MS. Lack does not seem to understand
what the REAL FACTS are. She has been buying into some hearsay statements from the Media stories. There is a lot of jealousy out there
in the college football world, and Ms. Lack is
    definately one of them.

  16. No money changed hands ? Go to LSU site, tigerdroppings.com and see the photo of the kid holding thousands. Read on. Does he play for Auburn ? I'm sure he just wrote a check at some anonymous bank for needy students. Why does Cecil Newton drive a new truck when he is supposedly a poor preacher just tending his flock ? Emmert of the NCAA and Slive look to be incahoots or do they?
As Ernest T. Bass said..."Ask me no questions and I will tell you no lies." Ernest T. never threw any rocks either.

  17. There was no money exchanged hands with Antonio Langham and games had to be forfeited. Cam's got an agent. He's a pro athelete.
