The Cam Newton scandal and NCAA Investigation didn't stop Auburn from winning the SEC Championship. The sweet taste of victory belongs to Auburn, even though their star quarterback has been fighting "play for pay" allegations for the better part of a season. The Auburn Tigers took on the South Carolina Gamecocks under the direction of Steve Spurrier, the former coach of the Florida Gators. Both Florida and Alabama - last year's frontrunners, were absent from the championship game.
South Carolina cracked Alabama's Crimson Tide this year, leading them away from the possibility of yet another BCS championship appearance.
This year it's the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks in line for the BCS title game. I'd almost bet on the Auburn Tigers and their Heisman frontrunner Cam Newton to win this game.
The Oregon Ducks are an unlikely team to make it, but it's refreshing to see someone other than your typical big winners such as Ohio State, Alabama, and Florida for a change.
Cam Newton is eligible, and at this time the NCAA hasn't found any reason to reprimand the athlete.
