Facebook 80's Cartoon Day Lights Up Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, and Other Past Favorites

Facebook's 80's cartoon day is somewhat of a mystery.  Why are millions of Facebook users searching for Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Smurfs, and other 80's throwbacks? It's no secret that cartoons from the decade are THE BEST, so the question isn't "why 80's cartoons", it's "why today? what's going on?"

Some "unnamed sources" have said that an unnamed site started the fad to raise awareness about child abuse. However, such predictions are a little odd considering that child abuse prevention month isn't until April.

We think that what went down is that someone decided to change their avatar, messaged all their friends and then what happened was a viral outburst of interest in these cartoons.

Alexandra V. Tobias: Baby Killed For Interrupting Facebook Time

Alexandra V. Tobias killed her baby for interrupting her Facebook time. While it's true that people are getting a little too into social networking sites like Twitter, who would have thought that someone would actually KILL their child because they interrupted their time on the site.

Alexandra V. Tobias shook her 3 month old baby, Dylan, after his crying was interrupting her time playing FarmVille. She said she shook him, smoked a cigarette, and shook him again.

Tobias' story is far from the most bizarre. A Korean couple was found guilty after allowing their baby starve to death while they raised a virtual baby together online. Another woman was banned from using computers after she neglected her children and her pets.

Some people should just not be parents.

In all seriousness, don't shake babies. If a baby is getting on your nerves and you really think that your FarmVille time is more important, do yourself a favor and bundle up the baby and take him or her to the nearest emergency room or safe place.
