The Cam Newton scandal and NCAA Investigation didn't stop Auburn from winning the SEC Championship. The sweet taste of victory belongs to Auburn, even though their star quarterback has been fighting "play for pay" allegations for the better part of a season.

The Auburn Tigers took on the South Carolina Gamecocks under the direction of Steve Spurrier, the former coach of the Florida Gators. Both Florida and Alabama - last year's frontrunners, were absent from the championship game.

South Carolina cracked Alabama's Crimson Tide this year, leading them away from the possibility of yet another BCS championship appearance.

This year it's the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks in line for the BCS title game. I'd almost bet on the Auburn Tigers and their Heisman frontrunner Cam Newton to win this game.

The Oregon Ducks are an unlikely team to make it, but it's refreshing to see someone other than your typical big winners such as Ohio State, Alabama, and Florida for a change.

Cam Newton is eligible, and at this time the NCAA hasn't found any reason to reprimand the athlete.

NCAA Football Scores & BCS Rankings 2010

NCAA Football Scores & BCS Rankings 2010. The NCAA football scores are coming in and the BCS Rankings 2010 will likely change as a result. Amazingly, Mizzou was able to upset the OU Sooners, which will knock the Oklahoma team out of the #1 slot, and likely replace them with the Ducks of Oregon.

Alabama and Ohio State aren't at the top of the BCS rankings, which is rather remarkable. The two teams are arguably two of the best programs in the nation.

Although Alabama has slipped in the rankings, over the continuing weeks it's expected that they will creep back up again. It would be shocking if the Crimson Tide wasn't in a big Bowl Game.

The top five of the BCS before week 8 were the Sooners, the Oregon Ducks, the Boise State Broncos, the Auburn Tigers, and the TCU Horned Frogs. Now, I wouldn't be surprised at all if these rankings were shook up after this week.

Eric LeGrand Rutgers Injury Paralyzed

Eric LeGrand, a Rutgers student was injured, paralyzed. While playing football, LeGrand suffered a spinal cord injury that has left him with no movement below his neck. This is yet another devastating blow to a school which has already lost one student this year after he committed suicide for being bullied because of his sexual orientation.

The injury came at the game against Army, and occurred during the last minutes of the game. Rutgers kicked the ball, which Malcolm Brown was returning for the Army Team. Eric LeGrand went to tackle him and went in head first. He laid motionless on the ground. There is still hope that the paralysis is temporary, and more will be known at a later time. NCAA College Football Rankings 2010

NCAA College Football Rankings 2010 are coming in from AP and USA today. There was a lot of movement in this week's 2010 College Football NCAA rankings after the massive upset of Alabama by South Carolina earlier this week.

Both USA Today and the AP polls have Alabama slipping to #8 with Ohio State taking over the #1 ranking. Oregon, Boise State, Nebraska, and TCU round out the top 5, with Nebraska and TCU switching up the #4 and #5 positions across polls.

It's amazing to me that the NCAA college football rankings 2010 can change so much just after one game. South Carolina was ranked #19 but they went up to #10 on the AP Poll and #12 on the USA Today poll.

After the Michigan/Michigan state game the teams went from #17 and #18 to #11 and #13 on the AP/USA Today Poll for Michigan State and unranked and #24 for Michigan.

BCS 2010 Standings: Bowl Championship Series Rankings Released Next Week

BCS 2010 Standings: Bowl Championship series rankings will be released on October 17th. This is an exciting time for NCAA football, as it will tell us where the schools actually rank. There were some big movements in the AP Polls this week, as the South Carolina upset of Alabama really changed the landscape of the rankings.

Bleacher Report reports, though, that when the BCS rankings do come out, it won't be Ohio State or Alabama or even Auburn at the top. No, instead it will be Boise State.

Yes that is right. Boise State. Kind of odd, isn't it? Alabama may not have a chance to go to the BCS championship again this year. They are expected to slip to #10 after their loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks. ESPN reports that Alabama is currently #8 at the AP and USA Today polls.

We will have to see on October 17 what the BCS 2010 Standings bring out, and what that means for our favorite teams. Where do you think that the BCS standings for this year will fall?

Alabama vs South Carolina 2010 was an unbelievable NCAA SEC upset. The #19 ranked South Carolina went up against the #1 ranked Alabama yesterday. The game was supposed to go something like this: thousands of Gamecocks fans gather with their team and beloved Coach Spurrier (formerly of Florida). Nick Sabin and the Crimson Tide would roll in, allow South Carolina to score a few points out of respect - but still clean their SEC competitors clock.

That's not at all how it went. Early on, the South Carolina team showed their competitor that unlike Arkansas, they weren't going to let the Crimson Tide stage a comeback. It seemed like every time there was an indication that Alabama was going to chip away at their deficit in the game, South Carolina scored again.

In the end, South Carolina won over Alabama 35 to 21. It was the biggest upset of the day possibly of the entire NCAA season- at least in the SEC Conference. Everyone thought it would be the Razorbacks that would stage the ultimate upset, but it wasn't. It was South Carolina.

South Carolina vs Alabama 2010 ended unexpectedly, but honestly it was the best game I watched all day - suspenseful and completely unexpected.

Now, Coach Spurrier used to be the head coach at Florida before the reign of Urban Meyer. He went to the pros, and then came back to NCAA football for the Gamecocks. Some say that Spurrier is what made the Florida football team so great, and if that's true I bet we will see a reign of South Carolina.

The teams are two hot SEC rivals. To beat the #1 ranked team would surely bring the Gamecocks up the ranks. However, the Alabama Crimson Tide is great at last minute game turnarounds - just look at how the Razorbacks were ahead a couple of weeks ago.

Both teams have beaten their common rival of Notre Dame - both barely. Michigan State pulled a last minute fake out which lead to their narrow victory.

Last year, Michigan State beat Michigan, and many venture to say that it may well be the case again this year. However, both teams are strong in the rankings and both teams are perfectly capable of pulling in a win.

Michigan vs Michigan State 2010 NCAA Football Big Ten Preview

Michigan vs Michigan State 2010 transpires later on today. This is one of the biggest Big Ten rivalries, particular for football fans in the great state of Michigan. The Spartans and the Wolverines have long been rivals. OF course the Wolverines are favored to win, but the Spartans have been known to pull an upset or two.

The Spartans are without their coach after he had a heart attack following the Notre Dame game. The Spartans did a last play-of-the-game fake-out and won over Notre Dame.

The Wolverines also beat the Fighting Irish.

Unless you're from Michigan you will never truly appreciate this bitter rivalry. The two universities are separated only by a couple of hours driving. Both are fantastic schools - some of the best public universities in the nation. Their athletic programs are really good too, only Michigan typically excels in football whereas Michigan State excels in basketball.

Nebraska vs Kansas State 2010 ESPN Thursday Night Football Big 12 Game

Nebraska vs Kansas State 2010 is the Thursday Night football Big 12 game on ESPN. Both Nebraska and Kansas State are still undefeated, making this a very exciting match for all of those involved. Being that it’s the Thursday Night Football highlighted match, it’s great to see these two contenders go head to head.

Nebraska and Kansas State are two favored Big 12 teams this year. Of course, Oklahoma remains a big player in the conference title. Heading to the BCS championship is a long shot, but both teams are playing strong this year.

Kansas State has a couple wins this year that are notable. They beat UCLA, which also beat Texas . Nebraska faces their first big challenge of the season tonight, but their offense is spectacular and one of the best in the NCAA.

Texas looks a bit shaky this year, so it’s not out of the question that these two teams, if they perform well this season, could face each other again in the post-season.

Alabama Crimson Tide Leads At Half Time

In what is perhaps the best game of the NCAA Week 5 schedule, Alabama vs Florida has become pretty much Alabama running in circles around Florida. The half time score is 24-3 Alabama, and the Florida Offense is really lacking without ol' Tim Tebow.

Call him a cry baby, whine about how he runs the ball instead of throws it. However, he "got er done" in Florida, and without him things just aren't the same.

Of course, it will be interesting to see what happens to Alabama when Mark Ingram leaves. He's an integral part of their team. Both Florida and Alabama have really great programs, and both teams are championship material.

There aren't many teams that can go head to head with a Big Ten champ like Ohio State, but last year Alabama did just that.

My gut feeling is that Florida already has this lost. However, teams have come back from a lot worse.

Arkansas vs Alabama NCAA Football Results: Bama Beats Razorbacks

The Arkansas vs Alabama NCAA football matchup was the most highly anticipated this weekend. Both teams are in the top 10, and both are in the SEC. Last week, Bobby Petrino's Razorbacks upset the Georgia Bulldogs - another strong SEC contender- giving way for the possibility that perhaps they would be able to stop the Crimson Tide.

Things looked promising. Former University of Michigan QB Ryan Mallett was at the top of his game, and he's definitely a Heisman contender. However, Bama's Mark Ingram - last year's Heisman winner and a strong contender for this year as well - was back after an injury. Without him, defeating the newly tightened up Arkansas team would prove difficult.

In the end, Bama beat the Razorbacks 24-20, after a lead by the Razorbacks for most of the game.

Michigan State Coach Suffers Heart Attack after Shocking Win

Michigan State head coach Mike Dantonio suffered a heart attack after MSU's shocking win over the Notre Dame fighting Irish. In the last seconds of the game, the Spartans "faked out" their opponents, and instead of kicking a field goal, they rallied for a last-minute touch down winning 34-31.

Damage to his heart is minimal, and he's expected to make a full recovery. He had to have a stent put in to restore blood flow, and will be in the hospital for a few more days.

The coach won't be back for the Spartans next game, and so far there's no indication of a timeline of his return.

As football is a high-stress environment, Dantonio isn't the only high-profile NCAA football coach to suffer from health problems. Florida head coach Urban Meyer was hospitalized last year after complaining of chest pains. Northern Illinois coach was hospitalized recently for dehydration, and a Notre Dame coordinator suffered from a viral illness.

Hopefully, Coach D will be back soon. All Spartans fans are behind him, and his family, at this time.
