What's a "nutmeg high"? Surprisingly enough, it's a high that people are getting out of a popular cooking spice. And considering it's one of those things that's in the spice racks of millions of American moms, who want nothing more than to use the ingredient to add delicious flavoring to cookies, cakes, and other treats it comes as no surprise that kids that find out that you can get high from consuming it are doing so.
YouTube videos have circulated of children...or should I say young adults (okay, perhaps "kids" would be a better terminology) taking apples and smoking nutmeg using an "apple bong."
Of course, this actually likely smells really good...and therefore parents remain unsuspecting, thinking that it's the holiday potpourri that is making the delicious smell, when in actuality it's droves of teenagers getting high in the basement.
Now, I'm not completely sold on the whole "nutmeg high" thing yet. It could be one of those urban legends...something that some mom made up somewhere so that her kid would smoke nutmeg instead of pot.
Remember - Teenagers will roll on the ground acting like idiots if they think their punch is spiked. If they smoke something from an apple bong, imagine how they will act.
So do you believe this 'nutmeg high' hype or not?
