Cartoon Characters...as Facebook profile pictures? In an effort to raise awareness on Child Abuse, on December 6th people are going to change their Facebook pictures to their favorite childhood cartoon characters. This means that there will be plenty of changes made and plenty of memories to share.
Of course, the day is bittersweet. There are many little children who have been abused, neglected, and mistreated. They aren't here any more to grab a bowl of cereal and eat breakfast while watching their favorite cartoon on TV.
Where are they? They are the worst kind of vicrtims. They are the ones who are no longer with us - they have been killed.
Most recently, Zahra Baker was in the news for being murdered. Three young boys are still missing from Morenci Michigan - and their father was arrested for parental kidnapping. It's not expected that they will be found alive.
Other high profile abuse cases include Elizabeth Smart - who was kidnapped and repeatedly raped when she was a young teenager. In addition, Haleigh Cummings, Caylee Anthony, and Jaycee Dugard have all been impacted by child abuse.
If you really want to be aware of abuse, listen to the music video "Concrete Angel" by Martina McBride.
So this Monday, put Cartoon Characters as Facebook Profile pictures. More Cartoon Character Pictures Can Be Found, HERE

70’s, 80’s, & 90’s Cartoon Characters For Your Facebook Profile

Cartoon characters from the 70's, 80's, and 90's are going to light up Facebook. Why? On Monday December 6, people are going to take to Facebook and change their avatar to cartoon characters to raise awareness of Child Abuse.
The Child Abuse Awareness month isn't until April, but it's never a bad idea to raise awareness about our most precious members of society.
The awareness push came about after the death of Zahra Baker and also after three young brothers from Michigan went missing in a bizarre parental kidnapping case. The boys went missing from their Morenci area home in Michigan. Their father, the last to see them alive, is in Ohio in jail after refusing to waive extradition to Michigan. It's not expected that the boys, aged 5, 7, and 9, are not expected to be found alive.
So where can you find the 70's 80's and 90's cartoon characters for your Facebook page? Here are a couple of photos below. You can also do a Google image search as well.

Facebook 80's Cartoon Day Lights Up Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, and Other Past Favorites
Facebook's 80's cartoon day is somewhat of a mystery. Why are millions of Facebook users searching for Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Smurfs, and other 80's throwbacks? It's no secret that cartoons from the decade are THE BEST, so the question isn't "why 80's cartoons", it's "why today? what's going on?"
Some "unnamed sources" have said that an unnamed site started the fad to raise awareness about child abuse. However, such predictions are a little odd considering that child abuse prevention month isn't until April.
We think that what went down is that someone decided to change their avatar, messaged all their friends and then what happened was a viral outburst of interest in these cartoons.
We want to hear - which vintage cartoons are your favorite? Are you taking part in this Facebook activity, or are you going to pass?
